Dumbest thing I’ve done all year

So I know a lot of bloggers post lists and resolutions this time of year. I think I’ll take a different approach. See, I do a lot of dumb things, but usually only my family and those closest to me know about them (all). In an effort to show that my life isn’t all sunshine and roses, I’ll post the silly things I’ve done, bad decisions I’ve made and the results here.

Like tonight for instance. No, the dumbest thing wasn’t agreeing to take the Cardio Lift class at the gym with Theresa. It was pretty dumb and I left feeling like I wanted to puke, die or both. We walked out of there knowing we’d probably hurt tomorrow…if I had any doubts then, they’re gone now…

So I get home, take the trash out, eat a little and then get in the shower. I had just put the shampoo in my hair when I heard noises that sounded like someone was coming up my stairs. I couldn’t remember if I had locked the front door or not, so I decided it might be a good idea to lock my bedroom door.

One step, two steps went fine, but when my foot hit the marble tile it was all over. I went down hard, on both elbows, punching myself in the nose in the process. Clearly, the dumbest thing I’ve done all year. Nevertheless, I got up and locked the door, then gingerly made my way back to the shower.

Long story short, my house was/is locked up tight, I’m banged up but not bloody or broken. The noise I heard was my neighbors dragging their trash out to the curb. From now on, all doors will be checked and the bedroom locked before showering and I’m taking Advil as a precautionary measure.

Happy New Year everyone!

  1. I don’t know, I think the accident with the mirror (glass? shower door? I can’t remember exactly) before the opera is a pretty good story.

  2. Oh my goodness…you had a Siobhan Day!!! I am so sorry to hear that! Unless, of course, ALL of your days are like that. Then you’ve turned into me. I love you either way. 😛
